European shares remained steady on Wednesday.

Shares of the Danish pharmaceutical company declined by nearly 2% in early trading.
Technology stocks also contributed to the market's downturn, falling by 0.5%.
Britain's FTSE 100 dropped 0.5%, following news that UK headline inflation held steady at 2.2% in August, the same as in July.
In other activity, Reckitt Benckiser's shares rose by 2.3% after reports surfaced about the company initiating early discussions with potential buyers for its homecare division, estimated to be valued at over £6 billion ($7.89 billion).
