Market Analysis
Sweden's economy has officially entered a technical recession in the third quarter, with preliminary figures from the statistics office revealing a 0.1% decline in gross domestic product (GDP) compared to the previous quarter.
This follows a similar decline in the second quarter, marking two consecutive quarters of economic contraction, which is the defining characteristic of a recession.
When compared to the same quarter last year, GDP also decreased by 0.1%. In September, the GDP experienced a 0.1% increase compared to the same month in the previous year, but there was a 0.4% decrease from August.
